Racing at the Putnam Co. Fairgrounds
Wiener dog track set up 50 feet long, and 25 feet wide. Fencing on both sides of the track with a start & finish line at each end. Two people are needed during the event, one to hold the dog at the start and one to catch it at the other end. If two people are unavailable we wail try to recruit volunteers from the audience. Dogs will be running off leash so please do not bring any aggressive dogs to our fundraiser. Races will be run in heats until we determine a winner via (single) elimination heats.All races will be run on Race Day.
The first dog across the finish line will win their heat and then run in the final for winner take all. How many heats we'll have will be determined by the number of dogs entered. You may run more than one dog (with separate entry form) but enough handlers are needed to hold dogs on leash until their heat please. Unless racing all dogs must be on leash. By entering the race you consent to allow us to publish the winner's photo, owner's name, and dog's name on our web sites and any other publicity as needed to publicize the festival. $5 entry fee for each dog. 40% first place-25% second place-20% third place.
